Novo jogo Star Wars The Old Republic

"Star Wars" (Guerra nas Estrelas), a saga espacial de George Lucas, nunca se conteve apenas nos episódios lançados no cinema. Sua história também é contada em livros, desenhos animados e, é claro, nos videogames. Como produto interativo, busca explorar os mais diversos gêneros: da ação e exploração, até a corrida, passando por luta e tiro em primeira pessoa.

Mas foram nos RPGs que os acontecimentos do detalhado universo dos Jedis e criaturas fantásticas ganharam mais vida, principalmente com "Knights of the Old Republic", game feito pela então independente BioWare para PC e Xbox em 2003. Agora, cinco anos depois e sendo parte do grupo da gigante Electronic Arts, a mesma BioWare se lança no desafio de adaptar "Star Wars" como um RPG online sem limite de jogadores (MMORPG, na sigla em inglês) e tentar desafiar o soberano "World of Warcraft", o título de maior expressão comercial do gênero, com mais de 11 milhões de assinantes.

"Star Wars: The Old Republic", como foi batizado o MMORPG da BioWare, em produção desde 2006, se passa 3.500 anos antes da ascensão de Darth Vader, quando o Império Sith saiu das profundezas do espaço para atacar a República defendida pelos Jedis. Mais precisamente, "The Old Republic" acontece nos anos anteriores ao confronto total entre os dois grupos. Em relação a "Knights of the Old Republic", que trata da Guerra Civil Jedi, o MMORPG acontece trezentos anos depois e pode esclarecer alguns mistérios que ficaram no ar.

Em se tratando da BioWare, que tem uma folha de ótimos serviços prestados no que diz respeito a condução de enredo - é o caso do próprio "Knights of the Old Republic" e, mais recentemente, de "Mass Effect" -, "The Old Republic" tem como diferencial o roteiro, ponto que geralmente fica a desejar em se tratando de MMORPG, pois valoriza-se mais a experiência. É claro que a produtora diz que não descuidará dos três pilares principais do gênero - exploração, combate e progressão (incluindo aí o desenvolvimento do personagem) -, mas a intenção é a de criar missões fortemente ligadas ao enredo e sempre com uma dimensão épica. Segundo a produtora, o K'lor, que parece uma centopéia gigante, é um dos inimigos mais inofensivos do game. Apesar de "The Old Republic" ser um MMORPG, no qual milhares de jogadores compartilham um mesmo mundo persistente, é possível jogar grande parte do game sozinho, exceto nas missões em que a cooperação de um grupo seja imprescindível.

Por ora, ainda não foram divulgadas as raças e classes que o jogador pode escolher para seu personagem, mas, na hora de criar seu personagem, pode se alinhar ou ao Império ou à República. A índole do personagem, ou seja, se está caminhando pelo lado da luz ou pelo espectro sombrio da Força, depende das decisões tomadas pelo jogador. Os Jedis e Sith têm filosofias diferentes. Os primeiros acreditam na paz, na ordem e na serenidade, enquanto que, para os Sith, a força vem das emoções, e a força é condição para a liberdade.

Ademais, muitos pontos ainda permanecem obscuros: os mundos que serão representados no game, os tipos de veículos ou o modelo de negócios (assinatura mensal, cobrança por uso de itens e afins).

Novo jogo online: Star Wars The Clone Wars - Fierce Twilight

O Cartoon Network lançou um novo jogo online do seriado de televisão Star Wars: The Clone Wars, trata-se do game FIERCE TWILIGHT, que em português significa Crepúsculo Feroz, clique nas imagens e jogue grátis online. Além disso, anunciou a estréia da série para o dia 03 de outubro de 2008, nos EUA. (Guerra nas Estrelas: Guerra dos Clones - Crepúsculo Feroz)

Star Wars The Clone Wars: Lightsaber Duels

A LucasArts anunciou o lançamento do jogo para videogame "Star Wars The Clone Wars: Lightsaber Duels" para o final do ano. Um dos jogos mais esperados, uma vez que utiliza os controles do Nintendo Wii para colocar na mão do jogador o tão desejado sabre Jedi da série Guerra nas Estrelas.

Será exclusivo para o Wii (com uma versão mais leve para a DS), o jogo foi desenvolvido pela Krome Studios e promete batalhas com o sabre de luz "para toda a família".

"Construído sobre a base do Wii, Lightsaber Duels apresenta um sistema de combate com controle de movimento que coloca o sabre de luz na sua mão", lê-se no comunicado da LucasArts.

O primeiro trailer do jogo foi agora revelado. Não mostra como funciona o controle da arma mas já dá para imaginar o que vem por aí.

Star Wars: The Clone Wars terá jogo de videogame

Tal como já tinha sido anunciado na parte de trás da capa de LEGO Indiana Jones: The Original Adventures, Star Wars: The Clone Wars terá uma versão para videogame chegará aos consoles do Nintendo: Wii e DS. A ação deste jogo ocorrerá entre os Episódios II e III dos filmes principais da série, dando um maior destaque às aventuras de Anakin Skywalker e Obi-wan Kenobi. A LucasArts, produtora do jogo, também anunciou que será no Outono de 2008 que este game chegará às prateleiras das lojas.

Star Wars: The Clone Wars (video game)

Star Wars: The Clone Wars is a video game developed by Pandemic Studios and published by LucasArts. It is about the Dark Reaper project during The Clone Wars, but also takes place at the Battle of Geonosis. Star Wars: The Clone Wars was released for the PlayStation 2 and Nintendo GameCube on November 28, 2002 and later April 22, 2003 for the Xbox.

This game mostly consists of vehicular combat, although there are a few times on certain missions that are on foot as either Anakin Skywalker or Mace Windu. The main vehicles in this game (in order of most used to least used) are the IFT-X, the Republic Gunship, and the AT-XT (aka Republic Walker). The player plays as the Grand Army of the Republic throughout the game. Though, in the various multiplayer modes offered in the game, players may select vehicles from both the Republic Army and the Confederacy of Independent Systems Army.

CIS vehicles include the Hailfire droid, GAT, and the Armoured Assault Tank (AAT).

The game begins with the Battle of Geonosis, and takes the player through the evacuation of Rhen Var, with the player leading the escape only minutes before the Separatist Army captures the planet.

The battle of Raxus PrimeOne month after the Battle of Geonosis, the Republic detects unusual activity on Raxus Prime, and sends a strike force led by Anakin Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi to investigate the activity.

On arrival, they find Separatist forces at an excavation site. They send for reinforcements to take the planet. The Republic captures Raxus Prime, but during the battle, Anakin is captured by Count Dooku.

Anakin Skywalker is sent to Alaris Prime, the Kashyyyk moon, to be executed. Skywalker and the other prisoners are doomed to be killed by the Force Harvester, an ancient Sith weapon that drains the Force from all living things within its range. Anakin is able to escape his cell and call for help. The Republic arrives, rescues Anakin, and destroys the Separatist presence on Alaris Prime.

When Anakin returns to the Jedi Temple, Yoda and Mace Windu tell him and Obi-Wan of the Dark Reaper, an ancient Sith weapon built during the Great Sith War that was so powerful that none could withstand it. It required large amounts of energy to work, which the Force Harvester could provide. They believe that the Separatists are trying to build a Dark Reaper on Thule, so they all travel to Thule to prevent it from being built.

When they reach Thule, a massive battle ensues. While the other Jedi battle the Separatist forces outside the Sith Temple, Anakin enters the temple and destroys the Dark Reaper.
